Really lovely Japanese mini photo series of Harvey spinning and relaxing.

Listen!

and this tune was an absolute stone cold Tonka classic. Harvey would always play this out. Really hard to find, this tune was a bit of a holy grail for many of us.

Joe Coleman

One of my absolute favorite artists Joe Coleman. Really curious to see some old footage from his more extreme performance art. Came upon this small cameo in the Clayton Patterson documentary-Captured. Enjoy

Ikebana-Yukio Nakagawa

Extraordinary still life composition from radical Japanese Ikebana master Yukio Nakagawa.Made almost entirely of plant material. Often dark and unsettling, his best works have a wonderful erotic charge to them. Love this quote of his
' when I started ikebana I felt my heart pound from the sensation,
as if I were touching the lives of the flowers. I was hesitant
to use my scissors lest the stems and leaves become covered
with flowers's blood '.

Rythm & Sound -Carrier

Listen!

Sounds of a distant galaxy. What outer space might like sound like.

Denime 66XX

Speaking of Wabi-Sabi.................
Denime 66xx. One hot soak, one 90 degree washing machine wash, one hot soak. Four months of regular wear. Some honey combs and some wiskering mainly around the side of the knees and front pocket area. Annoyed i managed to shred the rear patch and i should have sized up one. Still a long way to go for this pair.

Levis Lefty

Really loving the new Levis Lefty capsule range. Combining the differing talents of Japanese uber designers Takahiro Miyashita of deceased Number (N)ine and gun for hire Kazuki Kuraishi. What i love about the range is that they stay true to the brands heritage whilst managing to offer something new and nudge things forward. Its a collection by two designers who really love denim, understand its relevance and give it a context. I don't like over styled, over designed jeans. I like jeans to look like jeans with a focus on classic shapes and an appreciation of the key elements. Ultimately only the process of Wabi-Sabi can improve upon the 501 0r 505. What Takahiro Kuraishi have done is focus on the details and offered little design tweaks here and there. Half selvedge, donut buttons, dropped rear left pocket, hidden rear watch pocket etc. The biggest design feature is that as both designers are left handed many elements like the rear patch, red tab and coin pocket are all placed to the left. All this is distilled into a beautifully considered wistful collection. A love letter to Americana, the mythical West and Rock and Roll.

Awaiting the 505 with much excitement.
